Henry Ford introduced the very first V8 engine in 1931. In 1929, Ford thought about creating the V8 but in 1931 it was brought out in the modified Model A. The competition with Chevy brought on the idea of the stronger and faster V8. The V6 that Ford and Chevy had both been using only had 6 cylinders which means there was only six pistons moving while driving. The V8 has 8 cylinders which makes the engine get more horsepower and way more torque.
